From 29th January until 12th of febbruary, in Rome, the photographic exhibition “Lasagna Elettorale” by Carina Wachsmann will be held in Palazzo Valentini (“Tom Benetollo” hall). It consists in a review of photographs taken during election campaigns. They depict the stratification of manifestos of opposing factions, exposed to the elements, seemingly evoking rather inedible lasagne… Clearly ironic, though discreet and pungent, Carina Wachsmann transmits her strong idealism through an impeccable technique scented with art. Electoral lasagna is a typically italian speciality. It is present in nearly all the regions, with a few variants. It’s not an every day dish but one prepared for special feasts called “GENERAL” or “LOCAL”. Carina Wachsmann uses a conceptual style, geometric and elegant in its search for the beauty in things. Her photographs analyze the complexity of the city, the transitory nature of man’s position and in relation to it and that of both in relation to the all. A decisively provocative style, yet refined and feminine. Una rassegna di foto scattate sotto campagna elettorale e nelle quali i cartelloni di opposte fazioni, sottoposti al sole e alle intemperie, sembrano evocare delle lasagne non proprio commestibili… Chiaramente ironica, ma al tempo stesso discreta e pungente, Carina Wachsmann lascia intravedere il suo forte idealismo dietro ad una tecnica impeccabile che profuma d’ arte. La lasagna elettorale è una specialità tipicamente italiana. È diffusa in quasi tutte le regioni, con alcune varianti. Non è un piatto per tutti i giorni perchè si prepara per le feste chiamate “le POLITICHE” o “le AMMINISTRATIVE”. Carina Wachsmann, artista tedesca che ha studiato in Europa e negli Stati Uniti, adotta uno stile concettuale, geometrico, elegante, alla continua ricerca della bellezza nelle cose. Le sue foto analizzano la complessità delle città, la posizione dell'uomo, la transitorietà dell’uno rispetto all’altra e di entrambi rispetto al tutto. Uno stile decisamente provocatorio e al contempo raffinato e femminile.
